Maximize Your Club Experience:  As is true of most experiences in life, the people who get the most from SFVMOMC are those who put the most into it.  Active members make deep friendships within our group - the kind of friendships that last a lifetime.

Please consider holding a position within the club.  Many of those described below take only a few minutes per month, others are more time-intensive.  As a non-profit, volunteer organization, our viability depends on members' willingness to lend their hands.

Asterisked (*) positions also submit information to the newsletter editor monthly or as needed.     

*President:  
Presides over  Board and General Meetings, attends as many club functions as possible, and generally oversees all club business and activities.

*1st VP: Arranges monthly meeting sites for board and general meetings. Chooses menus and coordinates food for general meetings.  Assumes presidential duties in case of absence or disability of the president.

*2nd VP: Involves fund raising. Coordinates and plans our two major fundraisers each year. (Photo fundraiser and Mothers Day Brunch. Helps plan the location, meal, and raffle items.

*Treasurer: Manages club finances. Collects money at general meetings, events and via the mail.   Keeps regular records of receipts and expenditures. Submits a monthly report to the bulletin editor.

Treasurer’s assistant: Assists treasurer at the general meetings and events.

*Secretary: Keeps minutes at the general and board meetings. Supplies them to the president and the bulletin editor each month. Keeps a copy of the by-laws and updates with appropriate corrections.

Newsletter Editor: Collects, organizes, and types the monthly newsletter in time to have it ready for the president’s review by the weekend before the 4th Tuesday of the month.

Copy editor: Gets the bulletin by the weekend of the 4th Tuesday of the month. Makes the appropriate number of copies, puts on labels and stamps and then mails to the general membership and prospective members by the 4th Tuesday of the month.

Web Master: Maintains website, uploads newsletters, maintains email address lists and sends out official club email blasts.

*Social: Plans and coordinates club social events (Halloween and Holiday parties, summer family picnic, etc.)

*Program: Sets up program ideas for meetings including managing all aspects of setting up speakers..

*Membership: Fields calls and emails from prospective members, provides club information and recommends resources.  Maintains records of prospectives, organizes get acquainted teas and is the general club liaison for prospectives.

Sunshine:
Sends birthday cards, arranges cards, meals, or other needed support to members in need.  

*Philanthropic:
Researches causes for the monthly charity can and investigates other worthy causes that come to the club's attention. Posts monthly updates in the bulletin and maintains records.

Big/Little Sister:
Matches new members with volunteer veteran members who can offer advice and answer questions.

Special needs Coordinator: Assists members with special needs children with helpful outside resources and support groups.  May connect members who have similar situations.

Resource Book Manager: Collects information and compiles it into a book brought to the meetings and teas. Items can be checked out or looked at during meetings.

Publicity: Distributes club brochures to doctor’s offices and hospitals.  Publicizes events as needed.     

Hospitality: Sells raffle tickets and greets members and prospective members at general meetings.

Badges: Takes orders for badges, submits to the printer and distributes them to members.

Playgroups: Helps members connect with other members who have multiples of similar age. May plan informal outings for the members such as days to the park, zoo, or indoor play place.

Halloween Costume Coordinator: Brings club costumes to late summer meetings for Halloween rental.  Collects gently used costumes for future costume rentals.

Preemie Closet Coordinator: Collects preemie clothing donations, lends them to those needing small garments. Maintains lending log and retrieves clothes.

Librarian: Records and stores club library of books and tapes.  Controls circulation of the materials.

Historian/Photographer/Scrapbook: Photographs and documents club events.

*State/National rep: Attends SCMOTC meetings  as able.  Announces  information at meetings.

*Over 40s: Coordinates gatherings specifically designed for members over 40.

Swap/sell: Coordinates a garage sale, and oversees Show-and-Sell at SCMOMC events.

Head Reporter: Coordinates and matches reporters with people to call. Tracks RSVP for meetings. Gives final count to the 1st VP and a list to the treasurer.  Initiates phone tree if needed.

Reporters: Club contacts for small groups of member (approximately 5 per reporter) to receive RSVPs, pass along reminders, and generally check in with members.  Perfect way for newer members or members with limited time to become involved with the club.

Roster: Maintains members information classified for club use only. Distributes information as needed to other club officers. Distributes updated rosters periodically to club members.
